Natural Abundance

Often on asking about the financial exchange of joining us for a Personal Retreat, people question what they get in return.

Besides the crisp, white linens in our lovely rooms, the wholesome food that comes out of our kitchen and the beautiful facilities, such as our peaceful Meditation Hall, we value the exquisite land, the wild creatures which inhabit it, and the clean mountain spring water.

At the foot of the Witkransberg in the Overberg region, on the Southern tip of Africa, Bodhi Khaya Retreat is in one of the most diverse biospheres in the world - one of only seven floral kingdoms on the planet. Surrounded by indigenous Fynbos and ancient Milkwood forests, it is a special place to reconnect to ancient wisdom and the healing power of nature.

As part of the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy, Bodhi Khaya plays its part in protecting over 9000 species of plant life as well as the huge variety of animal life including the cape otter, honey badger, porcupine, baboon, bushbuck and the elusive cape leopard to name but a few.

Invaluable gifts on your stay are; the freedom to safely wander alone on the beautiful trails without fear of interruption; swimming in the wonderful dam or lily pond and viewing billions of stars scattered across the sky.

Only a 2.5 hour journey from Cape Town, comfortable lodging, three hearty vegetarian meals per day, a supply of refreshments such as teas and fruit, use of our beautifully maintained facilities and the irreplaceable freedom of walking in the mountains and forest alone… valued at R1000 per person per night. Gift yourself the experience of retreating to this sanctuary for the spirit.

I realise, after a year of living at Bodhi Khaya, that this is in actual fact - a very generous exchange.

With love,

Caron (Bodhi Khaya Resident)
